A Texas woman, Sarah Hartsfield, 48, is accused of murdering her fifth husband, Joseph Hartsfield, by poisoning him with insulin. This comes nearly five years after she allegedly shot her ex-fiancé, David Bragg, in self-defense. Hartsfield, a former US Army sergeant, is now under investigation for both cases.

According to multiple reports, Joseph Hartsfield, a 46-year-old diabetic, was found with extremely high insulin levels four to six hours before his wife called 911 for help in January. Officials informed ABC13 in Houston that Joseph’s glucose monitor had sounded an alarm well before Sarah sought assistance.

While Sarah Hartsfield is currently in custody at Chambers County Jail, Minnesota investigators have reopened the probe into David Bragg’s 2018 death. The reason for the case’s reopening and the new evidence involved remain unclear.

Hartsfield, then going as Sarah Dohonue, was arrested in March 1996 for allegedly assaulting her second husband, Michael Traxler, at their Rio Bonito home and was later released.

This is not Hartsfield’s first encounter with law enforcement. In March 1996, she was arrested for allegedly assaulting her second husband, Michael Traxler, at their Rio Bonito home while using her maiden name, Sarah Dohonue. She spent a week in jail before the charges were ultimately dropped.

The recent allegations against Hartsfield bring her past incidents to light, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths of her ex-fiancé and fifth husband. The reopening of the 2018 case indicates that investigators are determined to uncover the truth behind these tragic events.
